About

One contact person. From the first idea to years after go-live.

Rafael Seidl, software developer from Graz, working for businesses across Austria and remotely beyond. On-site appointments by arrangement.

Working together

How I work

What I like most is looking at how things actually run, working out a solution together, and then building it myself. Along the way you get partial results to look at and test, instead of facing a finished system at the end that nobody has checked.

Direct, no middle layer

I take down the requirements and build them myself. Nothing gets lost on the way from the conversation to the code.

From Styria and remotely beyond

On-site appointments around Graz without overhead, everything else remote. That works reliably across Austria and doesn't stop at the border.

Honest recommendations

If I'm not the right fit, I say so. I recommend what serves your project, not what earns me the bigger contract.

AI where it genuinely contributes

AI-assisted development is part of my daily work: in building user interfaces, in testing, in security checks, and in catching mistakes before they reach production. All of it reviewed by me, and my responsibility.

Background

About me in brief

Rafael Seidl, software developer and owner of code & concept

I studied Software Engineering and Management (BSc) at TU Graz. For more than 9 years I have been developing software in my day job, currently for clients in IT, telecommunications and construction. I bring the same care and experience to your project.

Career so far

  1. Joined a Graz software company

Started as a tester at an e-commerce company with around 100 employees and major clients across the DACH region, later responsible for service delivery and quality assurance.

  2. Moved into development

Backend developer at the same company. First checking software from the outside, then building it from the inside. A perspective that still shapes how I develop today.

  3. Graz software agency

Backend development in my day job, to this day. Projects for clients in IT and telecommunications, construction and other industries: from architecture through planning to implementation, in direct contact with the clients.

  4. code & concept

Founding my own business, alongside employment. I support businesses in digitizing their processes: from gathering the requirements to running them day to day.

Technology

My services in detail

From the database to the interface, everything from one source. Proven, widely used technologies rather than niche solutions, so your application stays maintainable.

Business logic and interfaces

The part nobody sees: data, rules, reports and the connection to systems you already run.

Interfaces your people use

The screens people actually work with: in the browser, on a desktop as well as on a phone. That comes from me too, not from a second supplier.

Servers and operations

Applications run in containers, and server setup exists as code, traceable and repeatable, instead of assembled by hand. On a server in your own building just as well as in the cloud.

Sign-in and permissions

Who gets to see and change what: a proven sign-in system rather than a home-grown login, including as an access gate in front of applications that bring no sign-in of their own.

Tools, among others: Java with Spring and Quarkus, Node.js with NestJS, interfaces with Astro, React and Tailwind, databases from PostgreSQL, MySQL and MS SQL Server through to MongoDB, Firestore and Datastore, Docker and Kubernetes, Ansible and NixOS, Google Cloud, Keycloak, Authelia and Cloudflare Access.

Does this fit your project?

Best discussed in 30 minutes on the phone. Costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
